PRP therapy, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy, involves drawing out one’s own blood and centrifuging it so that the plasma with platelets collects in a tube. This plasma, that is rich in platelets and growth factors, is very useful in tissue healing and regeneration. After being extracted, it is injected on the scalp (or rubbed in the scalp after performing a dermaroller treatment) in the areas which suffer from hair loss.
The application of PRP causes hair follicles that are miniaturized to become larger and healthier, thus producing more hair growth. PRP is loaded with growth factors that promote rapid cell growth and hair restoration.
